May 20, 2023 - Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that investigators with the Ventura County Fentanyl and Overdose Crimes Units (VCFOCUS) concluded an overdose investigation which led to the arrest and federal indictment of 26-year-old New Jersey resident, Kimber Brunfman. On December 10, 2022, deputies from the Thousand Oaks Police Station responded to the 200 block of Erbes Road where they discovered a 25-year-old male subject deceased from an apparent drug overdose. Detectives with VCFOCUS assumed the investigation and identified Kimber Brunfman as the suspect who sold multiple controlled substances, including fentanyl, to the victim of the overdose.
